What drones are compatible with DJI Dock 3?
DJI Dock 3 is designed for the DJI Matrice 4D Series, including the DJI Matrice 4D and DJI Matrice 4TD. It is not a universal docking system for every DJI Enterprise drone, so compatibility should always be checked before planning a dock-based operation. DJI states that Dock 3 is equipped with Matrice 4D or Matrice 4TD drones, and its support information states that Dock 3 only supports the DJI Matrice 4D Series.
For organisations exploring remote monitoring, security, inspection or repeat site visibility, this matters because the aircraft, payload and dock need to match the job.
DJI Dock 3 is compatible with the DJI Matrice 4D Series.
This includes DJI Matrice 4D and DJI Matrice 4TD.
DJI Dock 3 is not designed for every DJI Enterprise drone.
The right aircraft depends on the site, use case, payload requirement and data workflow.
Team UAV can help assess whether DJI Dock 3 is the right fit before investment.
What does this mean?
DJI Dock 3 is part of DJI's drone-in-a-box ecosystem.
The dock acts as the base station, while the compatible aircraft carries out planned or remote missions. For Dock 3, the aircraft is the Matrice 4D Series rather than general DJI Enterprise platforms.
That distinction is important. A business may already own DJI Enterprise equipment, but that does not automatically mean it can be used with DJI Dock 3. Dock compatibility depends on the specific aircraft series, dock configuration and intended workflow.
For most clients, the practical question is not simply "which drone fits in the dock?" It is "which dock and aircraft setup is right for the site?"
Why does it matter?
Drone dock projects need to be planned around the full operation, not just the hardware.
A dock-based system may be considered for site monitoring, security checks, infrastructure inspection, emergency response, progress tracking or repeat data capture. Each use case may need a different approach to aircraft selection, payload capability, software setup, data review and operational support.
The Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD also serve different roles. The right choice will depend on whether the client needs visual inspection, thermal capability, monitoring support, security-focused data, asset visibility or other operational outputs.
Choosing the wrong setup can lead to wasted budget, limited value or a system that does not match the client's real requirements.
Team UAV Insight
Team UAV is an official DJI Enterprise Reseller, but we are operators first.
That means we do not look at Dock 3 compatibility as a simple product question. We look at the site, use case, operating model, data requirement and long-term value before recommending a system.
For some organisations, DJI Dock 3 with a Matrice 4D Series aircraft may be a strong fit for remote monitoring, repeat inspection, security or infrastructure visibility. For others, a mobile drone service, standard enterprise aircraft or a different deployment model may be more appropriate.
Our focus is on helping clients make the right decision before they invest in dock-based drone technology.

FAQS
-
No. DJI Dock 3 is designed for the DJI Matrice 4D Series. It should not be treated as a universal dock for all DJI Enterprise aircraft.
-
Both are designed for DJI Dock 3 workflows, but the right choice depends on the required data and operational use case. For example, some clients may need visual monitoring, while others may require thermal capability or more security-focused inspection data.
-
Neither should be chosen in isolation. The right approach is to assess the site, use case, data requirement, operating model and support needs before deciding whether DJI Dock 3 and Matrice 4D Series aircraft are suitable.
